Hero and Conventional Cut Out Shots
Blue Suede Shoe
Shot using Light Revolution
Light Revolution Hero
The shoe has been lit with one Kino Flo Select LED which had a black flag attached to reduce the surface area of the light by 50% resulting in a harder light source. The system executes one complete revolution of the subject resulting in a 360 degree light
Light Revolution Advantage
The 360 degree lighting has accentuated the shape of the shoe and reveals more of the texture of the suede compared to the conventional set up below. The initial set up time was quicker and required a less skilled operator

Notes To Tech Details Above
1. The Lighting Set Up Times
These times are based on one person building a set from scratch in the studio including unpacking the kit, assembling the lighting and shooting an initial test
2. The Repeat Shoot Times
These times relate to shooting similar products once the set up is established so include swapping the products in and out, positioning reflectors and and making a single exposure
3. Camera Set Up Time
The time taken to position the camera over the set is not included as this will vary depending on the support and camera systems used and will be the same time for either set up anyway.
4. Post Production
The subjects has been shot on a white background in each example and not retouched or cut out to illustrate the degree of difficulty needed to cut out the image
5. Degree of Difficulty in Setting up Lighting
This varies between 1 to 10, 1 being someone with no knowledge of photography and 10 being an experienced studio photographer
